Asheville has 2 busses going. One will go Saturday and stay overnight in a church. The other is going for the day trip on Sunday. Their cost is $65 for the overnight bus, and $60 for the day trip. The contact is Melissa Smith, 828-216-4137 or ashevillenowactive@yahoo.com.

Triad NOW and Charlotte NOW are referring people to Planned Parenthood and Naral for busses at this time. Planned Parenthood is taking care of Wilmington. To contact Planned Parenthood, call Jenny Payne at (910)762-6148. To contact Naral, call Suzanne Buckley at (919)829-9779.

NC NOW chapters are running busses for one day trips to the March for Women's Lives in Washington DC on April 25, 2004.

Please join us leaving from Raleigh, Fayetteville, Asheville or Durham. Round trip on Raleigh NOW and Fayetteville NOW busses cost $45. Both Raleigh and Fayetteville chapters hope to make partial scholarships available.

Raleigh NOW's bus registration form is coming out in the Spring newsletter (should be delivered in early March, 2004).

Newsletter folding should be the week of Feb 22 at Borders at Six Forks and Wake Forest Roads.

Religious Panel Event:
Some members would really like the chapter to get pro-choice religious leaders to share their views at a Religious Panel type meeting. We see this as a very large meeting, where the Religious Leaders pull in their constituents and outsiders. This could be very informative for the community, and also a great place to tell more audiences about the March for Women's Lives. Gailya Paliga is trying to get Naral involved as well.

NC Conference and South East Regional Conference
The 2004 SE Regional Conference will be in Charlotte NC from May 21 - 23, 2004. A few years ago, many of us went to Florida for the Regional Conference, so it is convenient for us that it's in Charlotte this year. This year NC is doing the Regional and our State Conference both in May.
The conferences generally include NOW business (voting), informative workshops and at least one panel discussion. The Regional Conference will be that Friday night and Saturday day, and the NC State Conference will be Sunday.
