October 28 at 8:30 am - 1:30 pm Women's Agenda Assembly

NC Women United (NCWU), an organization of groups that work together, is sponsoring a Wake County Women's Agenda Assembly on Saturday, Oct 28 from 8:30 to 1:30 at the NCAE (NC Association of Educators). In this forum, women from all over get together and discuss and prioritize issues that affect women. As another Raleigh NOW member summarized her experience from the 2004 Assembly,

"On November 20th, I participated in my first NC Women’s Agenda Assembly Meeting. I did not know what to expect and I was very pleasantly surprised. I learned more about the status of women in North Carolina in one morning than I could have by reading months’ worth of newspapers. The draft women’s agenda, still available at www.wakewaa2004.org, is a great resource - it summarizes the status of the four main issues discussed and makes recommendations for improvement. The goal of the meeting was to prioritize these issues, which will then be presented to the legislature by NCWU, at Women’s Advocacy Day."
