2008 Roe Event - Postponed due to snow

We are postponing our Supreme Court Roe event due to snow! Snow is already falling in Raleigh and Cary, and it is supposed to fall for hours. Please join us on Tuesday, February 5 at 7pm. Same topic, same speaker (Jennifer Rudinger, Executive Director of the ACLU-NC). Most likely at the same place, but I'll send another email with confirmed details. Sorry for the inconvenience, and enjoy the snow!

Supreme Court Decisions since Roberts and Alito joined the court. ACLU-NC Executive Director Jennifer Rudinger will speak. Women’s Rights and Reproductive Rights have gone backwards with the recent judicial appointments to the U.S. Supreme Court. Find out about some of these decisions and what we can do. 7pm. Tuesday, Jan 22, 2008 - 35th anniversary of Roe v. Wade decision which gave women control over own decisions. Demonstration at Capitol, be there 12-1. Sign making on Monday, Jan 21 with Planned Parenthood. Contact Farley at (919) 833-7534 x153.

Thursday, January 24th, 5:30pm - Mexican activist Verónica Cruz Sanchez in Raleigh. Ms. Cruz Sanchez has worked for more than 15 years to promote women's rights in her home state of Guanajuato. Ms. Cruz Sanchez works to help women who are victims of violence, particularly sexual violence. Sponsored by Ipas, El Pueblo, Family Violence Prevention Center and Orange County Rape Crisis Center. Will be in Carrboro on January 27th at CHICLE. The talks will be in Spanish with interpretation provided as needed. RSVP to connaughtont@ipas.org and indicate if interpretation is required.
