Why do they think they can get away with it? Sep 4

Recognize these things??
- the hyper-sexualization of commercial products aimed at girls
- the explosion of violence in video games aimed at boys
- the near-hysterical sexist rants of hip-hop artists and talk radio shock jocks
- the harsh, patronizing caricatures of femininity and feminism that reverberate throughout the mainstream of American popular culture.

Worried about yourself, your children, your relatives?

We're going to explore this topic (Women in Media and Culture) at our Annual Raleigh NOW meeting. You'll be surprised what you learn.

Appropriate for all women, including older women and teenage girls. Appropriate for men and teen boys too of course! Tuesday, Sept 4, at 7pm.

Contact president@raleighnow.org for details and to rsvp.
