The 2013-2014 NC Legislature is extremely unbalanced and making hasty decisions that will have long range, detrimental effects (as in House Bill 4: UI Fund Solvency and Program Changes which slashes unemployment benefits and Senate Bill 4: No NC Exchange/No Medicaid Expansion which blocks NC from expanding Medicaid coverage to cover more low income people and from providing its own insurance exchange). More bad bills are presented every day.

Stand up with other people and other organizations and be counted in protest!

January 22, 2013, marks the 40th anniversary of the US Supreme Court Roe v. Wade decision.

Thursday, Jan 31, 5:30-7:30pm, celebrate Roe turning 40 with us in Raleigh.

Bring your stories and ideas and food if you like. What has abortion being safe and legal meant to you? What problems have you experienced or seen associated with women and reproductive choices.

We will celebrate together at 2912 Highwoods Blvd, Raleigh. Near Capital and the Beltline in Raleigh.

The next step with the Pro-choice Sig Ad is to distribute them to our representatives in the NC Senate and NC House. We will make packets which include a copy of the signature ad and a letter from NC NOW, label them, and deliver them to our representatives.

Please email president@raleighnow.org if you can either help with putting the packets together (and specify availability day or night) or distributing them (and specify availability day or night). Sometimes when you distribute them, you get a chance to talk to representatives.
