Pro-choice Signature Ads Delivered 3/4/13, Still Taking Donations

Members of Fayetteville NOW and Raleigh NOW distributed the pro-choice signature ad packets to all of our NC Senators and NC Representatives of the House in Raleigh last night, Monday, 3/4/13. The pro-choice signature ad packets each included an actual ad from the Independent Weekly and a letter from NC NOW.

I love how the signature ad does 'double duty' - running in the Independent, and then being hand delivered to all of our NC reps so they recognize pro-choice people in NC.

If you would like to send in a donation toward the ad and our covering of bills, actions and issues in the NC General Assembly, you can use the form here - Download file

Not In Her Shoes Rally (3/20/13) in Raleigh!

Wednesday, March 20, noon-1pm, you have an opportunity to 'stand up and be counted' with other individuals and organizations in Raleigh!

Join NC NOW, Planned Parenthood and other pro-choice organizations and individuals for a “Not In Her Shoes” rally, at the Halifax Mall (next to the Legislative Buildings) in Raleigh.

Politicians don't interfere with your pap smears, mamograms, etc. Birth control and abortion are absolutely none of their business either. Join us and make a statement against this government interference.

Women's Advocacy Day Event - 4/9/13

Tuesday, April 9, about 8:30am to noon, join us and other organizations in NC Women United (NCWU) for Women's Advocacy Day (WAD), at the Legislative Building (on Jones St) in Raleigh.

The keynote speaker for this event is Kim Gandy, past president of national NOW and current president of NNEDV (the National Network to End Domestic Violence). We'll do some lobbying training, and Kim will inspire us! Then, we'll have a press conference. Finally we'll get a chance to talk to our own representatives. All of that should fit by noon (depending on when you speak to your reps).

This is a very powerful event. Every person that participates makes it more powerful.
