People want their name in the ad, but some times the appeal letter gets lost in all of the rush of December holidays. So we call members and past donors to see if they want in. We can do together, or I can give you a list to do in your own time. We have a script to make calling easier.

Next Raleigh NOW meeting is Tuesday Jan 5. Our focuses will be the signature ad and the Roe event, and probably current events.
Join us in planning our 2016 Roe Event, in the pro-choice signature ad campaign and fundraiser, and in planning a Domestic Violence vigil and other events with Raleigh NOW.
For our Roe event, we want to screen an inspiring documentary, like "The Vessel." Read about "The Vessel" and some other great documentaries at Documentary Recommendations.
Please lend your name and/or donate to NC NOW for the pro-choice signature ad, which runs in Indy Week on Jan 20, 2016, in commemoration of the 42nd anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision. Find Raleigh NOW's version of the ad at Raleigh NOW's Signature Ad Appeal.
Whether or not you can donate toward the ad, you can help in other ways. Raleigh NOW calls its members, because we know many of our members like to participate, and don't always contact us in a timely manner. Calling them gives us an opportunity to tell them about our upcoming Roe event too.
We'll also deliver pro-choice signature ad packets to our representatives in the NC General Assembly at 16 W. Jones St in the first weeks of the 2016 session. Read about what the packet included last year at 2015 Pro-Choice Signature Ad Packet Delivery.
We can also plan events and protests around what concerns members, and join in with other events and vigils. I'd love to do a vigil recognizing domestic violence victims, screen some more of those documentaries, plan panels on relevant topics, protest more outrageous bills.

NC NOW has been working for women in NC for 4 decades! NC NOW generates weekly legislative updates while the NC legislature is in session. We run this annual pro-choice signature ad, and then deliver copies of the ad to our representatives in the NC General Assembly every year. You are welcome to lend your name, contact friends and family to include theirs, and to help us deliver the ads in the spring.

NC NOW reports, events and articles highlight important issues, like attacks on abortion clinics in general, and the increase in attacks on Planned Parenthood clinics since those doctored videos started being released last July (7/11/15). Some people are surprised to learn how many women get abortions in the US and how safe getting an abortion actually is. Also, abortion has been accessible in North Carolina (mostly in urban areas) with less interference through 2011.
